Members

The majority of Dutch researchers of education are member of the VOR. In addition, there are a number of other practicing professionals with membership to the association, such as, education experts, curriculum developers, testing experts, educational policy officers, teachers, teachers-in-training and trainers in business and industry. Further, membership is possible for PhD students, educational science (training) students, students and members of other societies in the field of education and training such as the Dutch Association for Teacher Educators (VELON), the Dutch Association of Educationalists (NVO), and the Dutch organisation for HRD professionals and trainers (NVvO).
Membership to the VOR offers several benefits. First, one is automatically (and at a reduced subscription rate) subscribed to ‘Pedagogische Studiën’, the Netherlands ISI Journal of Educational Studies and Child Rearing. As of 2001, the VOR is the owner and – in conjunction with the Flemish Forum for Educational Research (VFO) – publisher of this journal. Further, one is entitled to a reduced fee for participation in the annually organised Education Research Days (ORD) and can participate in the activities of the divisions. Membership of one or more divisions within the VOR also provides the opportunity to become acquainted with other co-professionals. This way members remain up to date with the latest developments in their field and increase their professionalism.
